April 19, 2007: Final Project. Just a reminder that the deadline for final project submission (not final project marking) is tomorrow, April 20th.
April 2, 2007: Marked Assignments. Fenglian Qiu has the marked assignments in her office (DC3115) to hand back.
February 16, 2007: Final Exam. The exam schedule has a timeslot for this course. This is a mistake. There is no final exam in this course, only a final project as explained in the syllabus.
There will be a different presenter each week. Assignments are due in the pink drop box (3rd floor MC, by DC link) by 4:30 pm on the due date. Normally, the due date will be two weeks after the material is covered, on Thursdays.

Consider an iid English text of length 100. At each position, each letter from a to z appears independently with probability 1/26. Compute the probability of aaa and abc occuring in this text, respectively. (Hint: you can do dynamic programming as in class, you can also just do simulation to find the probabilities of aaa and abc.) Due by Jan. 25th. |
