Changing user IDs and passwords

Use the Change User ID and Password window to change the user ID and password for one or more selected agent sites, warehouse sources, or warehouse targets. You can use this window to change the user ID and password for multiple objects of the same type at the same time.

For example, if there is a change in ownership of a database that provides sources to the warehouse, you can use the Change User ID and Password window to change the user ID and password for the database in all the warehouse sources that correspond to the database.

You can also use the Change User ID and Password window to change the password associated with the user ID for the selected objects.

Authorities and privileges

To change a user ID and password:

  1. Open the Change User ID and Password window.

  2. Verify that the Change user ID check box is selected.

  3. In the User ID field, type the name of the user ID.

  4. Verify that the Change Password check box is selected.

  5. In the Password field, type the password for the user ID.

  6. In the Verify Password field, type the password again.

  7. Click OK.

    The Data Warehouse Center updates the user ID and password for the selected objects.

To change a user ID without changing a password:

  1. Open the Change User ID and Password window.

  2. Verify that the Change user ID check box is selected.

  3. In the User ID field, type the name of the user ID.

  4. Clear the Change Password check box.

  5. Click OK.

    The Data Warehouse Center updates the user ID for the selected objects.

To change a password without changing a user ID:

  1. Open the Change User ID and Password window.

  2. Clear the Change user ID check box.

  3. Verify that the Change Password check box is selected.

  4. In the Password field, type the password for the user ID.

  5. In the Verify Password field, type the password again.

  6. Click OK.

    The Data Warehouse Center updates the password for the selected objects.
