Moving and transforming data

To move data from operational sources and transform the data to the format that is required by the warehouse, you must define a process and add warehouse sources, warehouse targets, and steps to the process. The warehouse sources represent the operational data. The warehouse targets represent the warehouse data. The steps represent how the data is transformed from its source format to its target format.

At any time, you can save the changes you make to the process by clicking Process --> Save.

Authorities and privileges

To move and transform data:

1. Define a process object.

2. Open the process object.

3. Add one or more warehouse sources.

4. Add one or more warehouse targets.

5. Add one or more steps.

6. Link the steps to the warehouse sources.

7. Link the steps to the warehouse targets.

8. Promote the steps to test mode.

9. Run the steps to test them.

10. Schedule the steps.

11. Promote the steps to production mode.
