Simply stated, your system must be able to compute the
performance, in terms of time and fuel consumption,
for a cross country flight in a light plane, under VFR conditions.
The flight will consist of
-
taxi and run-up
-
takeoff and climb to altitude
-
progress to set heading point
-
progress through one or more waypoints
-
progress to descent point
-
entry into pattern, landing, taxi
The time and fuel cost of each stage must be computed,
and the legally mandated surplus fuel must be included.
The computations must correctly account for wind, temperature,
and pressure along the route.
Totals for the trip must be provided as well incrementals for each leg.
(Some examples will be provided for you, and a reference book
will be put on reserve.)
