CS 452/652 Winter 2020 - Project Proposal
(Version: 10 Mar 2020 16:21:59)
Due Date: CANCELLED Mon, Mar 16, 2020, 10:00am
The main purpose of a project proposal is to get you to think concretely about what you want to do for your project a little in advance of putting it together. The goal is to spare you as much work as possible, so I expect your project proposal to fit easily onto one page and to be written mostly in point form. The proposal should have four parts:
- Title and group.
- Overview. This should be a short description of what you expect your project to do. Write it from the point of view of somebody watching the trains saying what they should expect to see and how to interpret it.
- Technical challenges. This should be in point form and should list things that you expect to be the hardest to accomplish in realising your project. Each point should be about two sentences, one of which explains why you think the challenge is hard.
- Technical solutions. This should also be in point form with each point corresponding to one of the points in the previous section. Each point should be about two sentences, one saying what you will do to solve the challenge, the second saying why it will work.
Last but not least, try to find an evocative name for your project.
