CS 492/CS 692 S22 Role-Playing Exercise 8

Computers and children

Team A

A group of concerned parents who have noticed that their children are now attached to computer screens, for both education and social interactions, far more than they would like to see. They urge educational institutions to integrate more activities for children which remove computers from the equation, including more outdoor physical activity and more open-ended thinking, without consulting online resources.

Team B

A group of parents who feel that deliberately removing computers as a possible technology to assist students is ill-advised. They argue that the current generation is in fact a wired generation, and that any efforts should focus instead on assisting children in coping with any of the negative side effects of excessive use of computers in their lives.
