CS 778 - AM 741:
Numerical
Solution of Partial Differential Equations
(Winter
2002)
Instructor: Prof
B Simpson Updated Sat March 23
Course
meetings: Mon and Wed 4:15-5:45 pm. DC 3313
This course covers the basics of modern numerical methods
for supporting partial differential equations: I.e.
-
mesh generation
-
assembling the discrete equations
-
solving them
-
visualizing solutions
One of the connotations of 'modern' is that non-uniform
meshes and automated assembly of the discrete equations are featured.
