ProjectThe course notes describe the final project. You will either give a demonstration or a talk for your project, either of which will be open to the entire class. The project is worth 40% of your grade; 5% will be based on a project proposal presentation you give about your project to the class, and 35% is for the project itself.Goal: To learn something on your ownThe primary goal of the project is to learn something on your own. This will require reading some papers and either implementing something or writing a short paper about what you learn.Project ProposalThe project proposal presentations will be in mid- to late-March. The structure of your proposal should be similar to the following:
Project Final SubmissionThe following are needed to submit your project:
Your mark starts at 65 (out of 100) for having completed your base project and successfully convinced me that your learned something significant. See the course notes for suggestions for things to do to get higher than a 65/100 on your project. Special note: To get above a 90, you have to do something new in a research sense. Special, special note: if you do something significant enough that it warrants submitting a publication about it, you will receive a 100 in the course. Foot note: No one in past terms has received above 90 for their project. |
