CS898 - Fall 2019 - Readings for the Topic Areas

For each of the topic areas, there will be readings. Students are
expected to have read these papers and be ready to discuss in class,
for the due dates indicated in the timetable. Class participation
marks will be determined in part on the basis of the discussions
taking place on these dates (as well as on the basis of discussion of
the guest speaker's presentation and from questions being asked
following presentations done by others in the class).
Some papers have more technical detail and these can be simply skimmed.

The readings will also assist groups in motivating the work being
done for each of the required group projects. These readings
are primarily focused on informing students about "the problem";
working in groups, students will then move forward to try to develop
technological "solutions".

On September 16 we will have a Guest Speaker for the first hour and will
have time during the second hour for some reflection on the future of
computer science research. At the end of this Reading List are two
papers which will be helpful to read, towards that discussion.
