CS125: Introduction to Programming Principles

CS125 Winter 2008 Remark Policy

You will receive assignments back during weekly labs. You may instead pick them up during the tutors' consulting hours (see the Tutor tab) for up to two weeks after it is first handed back.

If there is an adding error on your assignment or midterm, bring it to the tutors in consulting hours and we will correct it on the spot.

If you feel that you did not receive a fair mark for your assignment or midterm you may request that we remark it. We will only accept remark requests up to 2 weeks after assignments or midterms are handed back (unless otherwise noted). To be fair to all students, we will remark all requests together, after the deadline.

To request for a remark on an assignment,

  1. Do not request a remark right away, think carefully about the validity of your solution. We will not accept remark requests on the day assignments or midterms are handed back.
  2. On a separate page, explain what you want remarked and why and staple this page to the front of your assignment.
  3. Give the request to your tutors during the consulting hours.
  4. The requests will be processed after the deadline has passed.
  5. The tutors will make an announcement about how to obtain the remarked assignments or midterms as soon as possible.

To request for a remark on a midterm,

  1. Remark requests will be accepted beginning as soon as you get your midterm and will end March 31st by noon.
  2. On a separate page, explain what you want remarked and why, staple this page to the front of your midterm.
  3. Give the request to the tutors during consulting hours.
  4. The requests will be processed after the deadline has passed.
  5. The tutors will make an announcement about how to obtain the remarked midterms as soon as possible.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you request a remark, you may have your whole assignment or midterm remarked and it is possible you will receive a LOWER mark than your current mark if you got credit where you shouldn't have.

If you have any questions about the policy, or if you are in a situation not described above, send an email to the tutors at cs125@student.cs.uwaterloo.ca
