Notes

  • Assignments/projects are to be submitted electronically via MarkUs and must adhere to the formatting requirements stated in the assignment/project description.
  • Assignment 0 must be completed individually.
  • Assignments #1-5 are equally weighted. We take the top 4 of your 5 assignment marks. Assignments #1-5 may be completed in groups of two.
  • All projects are equally weighted. Projects may be completed in groups of two.
  • NO LATE ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Projects have a late handin policy as described in the project description.
  • Self-declared absences are usually accommodated using the regular accommodations for assignments, e.g., taking the top four of five assignment marks. In very extenuating circumstances, the weight of some assessments (projects/midterm) can be shifted to the final exam.
  • Once a group is formed on MarkUs for an asn/project, it cannot be changed. You do not have to have the same group for every asn/project.
  • You can submit multiple times to MarkUs before the deadline.
  • Solution sets will be available on the solutions web page. This page requires authentication and is only available to current SE212 students and staff.

  • Students will be able to view their current marks for assessments via MarkUs. Final exams are not returned to students. University regulations provide procedures for appealing marking decisions on final exams.
  • Remarking Policy: If you want to request a remark of any part of an assessment, please send email to course email with your name, your user id, and a description of the problem with the marking of your assessment. Please check the solution set prior to submitting a request for a remark. Remark requests must be made within two weeks of when the assessment marks are available. When we remark a question, your grade could go up or down. Please be aware that there is a possibility that your grade will be lowered.

Remark requests must adhere to the following guidelines or they will be rejected:

    • Be respectful of the course staff.
    • Don't discuss how hard you worked.
    • Always include your userids and cc your partner - an instructor should be corresponding with everyone who wrote the submission and your partner must be in agreement with you submitting the remark request.
    • Don't send .png or .jpg files in the email. Send LINE NUMBERS in MarkUs.
    • Be brief and specific.
    • Ask questions - don't make demands or offer your opinions.
