SE 212: Logic and Computation (Fall 2024)

Marking Scheme

All assignments, projects, and challenge problems will be due on WEDNESDAYS at 21:00 (9pm).

Some assessment will be due almost every Wednesday.

Assignment 0 1% Assignment 0 must be completed individually.
Assignments #1-5 14% All assignments are equally weighted. We take the top 4 of your 5 assignment marks. Assignments may be completed in groups of two.
Projects (2) 20% All projects are equally weighted. Projects may be completed in groups of two.
Midterm Exam 20%
Final Exam 45%
Total 100%

You can reduce the weight of your final exam from 45% to a minimum of 40% through course participation. Discussion in class, postings to Piazza, or feedback on George (bug and suggestion reporting, improvements) can gain you up to 5% towards your final grade.

Final grades will be calculated as follows: 

Normal% = 0.01*Assignment0 + 0.14*Assignments1-5%  + 0.20*Projects +  0.20*Midterm% + 0.45*Final%

Please note: We may administer in person testing (one-to-one meeting) to ensure students have completed their own assessments. An oral exam may be administered for any assessment assigned during the term. An oral test may replace the test score. Students may be selected randomly or on a case-by-case basis and will be notified in advance.
