Marking Scheme

All assignments, projects, and challenge problems will be due on TUESDAYS at 21:00 (9pm).

Some assessment will be due almost every Tuesday.

Remote Assessments (13%)
Assignment 0 1% Assignment 0 must be completed individually.
Assignments #1-5 8% All assignments are equally weighted. We take the top 4 of your 5 assignment marks. Assignments may be completed in groups of two.
Project Submission 4% Projects may be completed in groups of three.

In-person Assessments (87%)

Midterm Exam 1 18% Tue 6 Oct 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM M3 1006
Midterm Exam 2 18% Tue 3 Nov 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM M3 1006
Project Presentation 4% Projects may be completed in groups of three.
Participation 3% Discussion in class, postings to Piazza, or feedback on George (bug and suggestion reporting, improvements), etc.
Final Exam 44% Schedule by the Registrar's Office

If you achieve a grade of >=65% on the in-person assessments, your grade calculation will be with the weights described above.

If you achieve a grade of <65% on the in-person assessments, then the weight of the in-person assessments increases linearly from 87% up to 100%.

Please note: We may administer in person testing (one-to-one meeting) to ensure students have completed their own assessments. An oral exam may be administered for any assessment assigned during the term. An oral test may replace the test score. Students may be selected randomly or on a case-by-case basis and will be notified in advance.
